Prof Chan Siew Hwa, Co-director of Energy Research Institute @NTU (ERI@N), was awarded “Star of Innovative Talents 2018” at the Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference of Guangzhou Development District, Guangzhou, China on Friday 22 February 2019.
Prof Chan, who is also the Vice Director of Sino-Singapore International Joint Research Institute (SSIJRI), is an expert in advanced fuel cell technologies. He co-founded Xin-Xiang (Guangzhou) Hydrogen Technologies Co., Ltd （新向(广州)氢能科技有限公司） in July 2018, which is one of the pioneer high-tech spin-offs incubated at SSIJRI with intellectual properties developed at NTU. Riding on the opportunity of the state-level Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC) cooperation project, Xin-Xiang is dedicated to driving the productivity and green growth through innovation by developing and manufacturing high value-added fuel-cell related materials and key products in China.
